Brisbane’s fine dining scene
Here are my favourite fancy schmany spots in Brisbane!
Komeyui, Spring Hill
Komeyui is my mum and I’s absolute favourite fine dining spot in Brisbane.
You have to try the seasonal omakase. IT IS DIVINE.
Not tryna be dramatic or anything but .. Komeyui has ruined all high end Japanese restaurants for me… forever…
Pictured first is my favourite dish – the tuna sushi. It just melted in my mouth. My mum’s favourite dish is the oysters. I’ve also tried the al a carte which is great too!

SK Steak & Oyster, James Street
This is my favourite restaurant. I usually go here for my birthday (although now Komeyui is a strong contender). You can’t go wrong here!

We tried out the new steakhouse, Fat Cow
My brother knows his steak, so I decided that when I’m out to dinner with my brother this year I’m going to leave the ordering completely in his hands. And, so far, so good!
We started this at the last restaurant we went to a week or so ago, which was also a steakhouse. But that steakhouse is not on this list, because it ain’t pri-approved It was fine really, just not great, and apparently I critique food now so…
The food here however, was delicious, and we ate our way through a very very enjoyable steak.
Here’s what we ordered (and I wouldn’t change a thing): As our entrees we opted for the artisan bread with moo jus and smoked butter, beef tartare, and chargrilled prawns. Three of us shared the absolutely delicious wagyu tasting experience (and there were left overs – yay!), dad ordered the lamb, and we had a side of mashed potatoes, fries, and mixed vegetables. Dessert was a chocolate tart and cheese cake.
Can confirm that the leftover wagyu in warmed up turkish bread was super delicious the next day.

Stanley, Howard Smith Wharves
Took mum here for her birthday and we all absolutely loved it. One of my favourite Chinese restaurants. I can’t choose a favourite dish because they were all so good. I stan this fo sure.
I’d love to come here again for lunch, as there’s a nice view of the water.

Gemelli, James Street
Never disappoints. Our go-to’s are the Margherita pizza and Gnocchi.
Adam reckons it’s the closest thing in Bris to authentic Italian pizza. Big call!
But he might be right.
